The Noto Peninsula coastal cycle route, is an excellent short tour in a beautiful part of Japan. It is promoted by Ishikawa Prefecture as the Ishikawa Satoyama Satoumi Cycling Route. Starting from Kanazawa station, the route soon joins a dedicated cycle road which runs up the west coast for 50 km. The route then mostly follows the coast on relatively quiet roads, with slightly heavier traffic near the big cities. There are good campsites along the way, some with ocean swimming nearby. Overall, it is a fine place for cycle touring.
